Understanding RAM memory for computers

Between the latest operating systems and the cutting edge gaming software out there, it takes plenty of RAM memory for computers to keep up. DDR RAM memory, or double data rate, has long been a standard for RAM modules. Basically, it stores information in the up and down swings of the clock signals and is able to store twice the amount of data than the memory cells it contains. DDR2 is a newer version. Honestly, you will notice little difference between the various classes of memory chips. What is most important is that you buy the correct type of chip, so check your operation manual or system to see if you need DDR RAM memory, DDR2 or something entirely different.
